  • What am I paying for?

As a client your fee is not just for our direct time together. I spend many hours outside of sessions in trainings, treatment planning, reading, gathering resources/referrals, networking, research, ongoing clinical consultation and supervision. This behind the scenes works means you are getting a well trained, confident, and useful healthcare provider.

I honor your time, labor, and commitment to therapy. To show up for you each session, I have decided to restrict my caseload. Doing this means I can step away from clinical work to honor my own wellbeing. Coming back to our sessions feeling ready to fully engage in our work together.

  • Insurance

I am an out of network provider. I am happy to provide a superbill (receipt) to submit to your insurance company for possible out of network reimbursement. I know it can be a bummer to finally find a therapist you like, only to realize they do not take insurance. I would like to explain this a bit.

Insurance companies are predatory for clients and clinicians. It is often time limited, confusing to navigate benefits, and dependent on a potential stigmatizing or pathologizing diagnosis. In providing a diagnosis employers, other providers, military, etc.… may have access to this information. Using insurance often means your provider can request session notes and other related documents at any time. I value your privacy, safety, and confidentiality.

  • Why choose an out of network therapist?

Seeing an out-of-network provider can offer significant benefits, particularly when seeking specialized or personalized healthcare.

I have more flexibility in my approach and treatment options, allowing me to tailor therapy to your unique needs without the constraints of insurance requirements. This flexibility leads to a higher quality of care, as the focus remains on what is clinically best for you rather than what is covered by insurance.

I honor your time, labor, and commitment to therapy. To show up for you each session, I have decided to restrict my caseload. Doing this means I can step away from clinical work to tend to my own wellbeing. Coming back to our sessions feeling ready to fully engage in our work together.

Choosing an out-of-network provider gives you more control in selecting a therapist whose expertise, style, and values align with your personal preferences, leading to a more meaningful and effective therapeutic experience.
