“I'm the strong one, I'm not nervous
I'm as tough as the crust of the Earth is
I move mountains, I move churches. But under the surface, I feel berserk as a tightrope walker in a three-ring circus.” -Luisa, Encanto

How I can help

Perfectionism and people pleasing can be significant sources of anxiety. Your nervous system always being on high alert can wreak havoc. Causing problems at work, in relationships, our emotional and physical health. We are not born thinking this way, babies don’t stop trying to walk because they fall over (not doing it perfectly the first time) right!? Often times these behaviors come from underlying trauma, societal messaging (all the isms), and our family of origins. Through methods like Therapy Intensives, EMDR , Brainspotting, and IFS I can help you release these beliefs and burdens that are no longer serving you.

FAQs about Anxiety Therapy

  • While therapy can significantly reduce or manage anxiety symptoms, it's not typically referred to as a "cure."

Taking care of our physical and mental health is a daily practice.

  • Perfectionism can be very helpful! It helps us get good grades or promotions at work. We often get attention or validation when we are “perfect”.

Sometimes it can get too loud and we experience stress, burnout, anger and resentment.

We can collaborate to find a balance.

  • It feels good to care for our loved ones and community!

But ask yourself this, do you also make space to care for yourself? If not, then let’s be curious about why? Why is everyone else so important but not you? How would you spend time dedicated to your needs, wants, and desires?

If you are finding these questions difficult to answer, then I wonder if there is more for us to discover together.
